There are also countless restaurants in the numerous alleyways around the Viktualienmarkt that are well worth a visit.

Fisch Witte

The fishmonger’s bistro offers fresh fish and seafood. If you want to eat oysters, lobster or a fish soup here, you should book a table to be on the safe side or try your luck. The dishes are priced between 15 and 30 euros.

Münchner Suppenküche

Munich’s famous soup kitchen offers freshly prepared soups every day, and not just at the Viktualienmarkt. Especially in the cold season, guests enjoy a changing range of soups, such as an old Bavarian potato soup, a carrot-coconut-ginger soup or a fine curry.

Kleiner Ochsenbrater

As the name suggests, at the Ochsenbrater you can get an ox roll in your hand or at the table with roast potatoes or potato salad. Classic meatballs, Leberkäs or bratwursts can be savoured with a fresh organic beer or organic wine. Prices range from 6.50 to 12 euros depending on the dish.

Cafe Nymphenburg Sekt

There’s always something going on here – see and be seen is the motto for many. The menu always includes seasonal dishes with wild garlic, asparagus and pasta or a fine selection of cheeses. The dishes are priced between 8 and 12 euros.

Münchens kleinste Gaststätte

Here you can also get something for the big appetite. Creamed ragout with spaetzle, sauerkraut with sausages or freshly prepared dumplings or a salad plate.
