Information

Opening hours.

The Viktualienmarkt is a public square, so the square itself is always open – 24 hours a day. However, the individual stalls are open depending on the operator and the product range. The operators only have to comply with the legal regulations. Entering the square is of course free of charge – only booked guided tours of the square cost something.

Opening hours of the Viktualienmarkt stalls

The stalls are open on all working days, Monday to Saturday. As a rule, they open at around 8 a.m. and close by 8 p.m. at the latest. Each Viktualienmarkt trader can set their own opening hours, and in winter some market stalls close earlier. Special opening hours apply for florists, bakers and caterers. For example, they may also be open on Sundays.

Special opening hours at Viktualienmarkt

On certain days, such as carnival, Christmas (24.12.) and New Year’s Eve (31.12.), some shops are closed or close earlier. If you need something special from a stall, you should contact the operator on such days to be on the safe side.

Opening hours of the beer garden

The beer garden is open Monday to Saturday all year round – depending on the weather, however, it may open later or close earlier. Generally, the opening hours are from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. – on nice days, the beer garden also opens on Sundays.

Opening hours Schrannenhalle

Next to the Viktualienmarkt, the Schrannenhalle at the Viktualienmarkt is home to Eataly and offers Italian delicacies as well as cafés and restaurants. The hall is generally open from Monday to Saturday from 10 am to 8 pm – the café and restaurants are also open after 8 pm.

We wish you a pleasant visit to the Viktualienmarkt!
